Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Pauillac appellation that extends over 85 hectares between Pauillac and Saint-Julien and whose wines are classified as 2nd Grand Cru in the official classification of 1855. It currently offers a grape variety that distinguishes it from the other Pauillac grands crus with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.
Its history is entirely feminine and dates back to the middle of the 17th century. At that time, Château Pichon Baron Longueville and Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande formed a single property. It was a century later, on the death of Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville in 1850, that the estate was divided between his two children, Raoul, who would go to Château Pichon Baron, and Virginie de Pichon Longueville, Countess of Lalande, who gave her name to her part of the estate. In 1978, May-Eliane de Lencquesaing inherited it in turn and through her constant efforts to improve its quality, gave international recognition to the estate's wines. In 2007, she decided to hand over the estate to the Louis Roederer Champagne House.
