It was in 1808 that Maison Henriot was born when Apolline, widow of Nicolas Henriot, took over the wine estate. In just a few years, she managed to make Henriot Champagne known in the very closed circle of the great royal families throughout Europe.
In 1880, the marriage of Marie Marguet to Paul Henriot brought to the estate some of the finest plots of Chardonnay on the Côte des Blancs and has since given Champagne Henriot its unique style. 200 years later, Maison Henriot has remained family-owned and independent, a rare thing in Champagne.
The champagnes of the House of Henriot are distinguished by the very high proportion of wines from Premiers and Grands Crus, by the long ageing and the large quantity of reserve wines in the non-vintage cuvées.
