SALOMON

La Bouteille Dorée offers a selection of large wine bottles and in particular in Salomon format, a giant bottle size to be reserved for major events, exceptional receptions or to offer as a wine gift, to celebrate a union, a wedding, a birthday.

A Salomon is an exceptionally large glass bottle containing the equivalent of twenty-four 75 cl bottles of wine, i.e. a capacity of 18 litres.

The Solomon of the Old Testament was king of Israel between 970 and 931 B.C. and was renowned for his many gifts, great wisdom, and knowledge of languages. His wealth, harem, and affair with the Queen of Sheba also reached legendary proportions. This bottle format can also be named Melchior, the name of the Wise Man who is believed to have come from Europe.

La Bouteille Dorée specialises in the delivery of large formats of bottles. Check out this guide to find out more about our transport and delivery conditions for Salomons and Melchiors and other very large bottles of wine.
