Located in Saint-Julien, Château Léoville Barton is classified as a 2nd Grand Cru and Château Langoa Barton as a 3rd Grand Cru in the 1855 classification. From the vineyards and mansions of Château Langoa Barton and Château Léoville Barton, rises for 3 centuries the soul of Ireland that Thomas Barton left in 1722 at the age of 27 to develop in France the family business of his uncles. It was when he discovered Bordeaux that he started trading wines, a business that quickly became flourishing.
The Irish history of castles continues to this day. They are managed by the descendants of Anthony Barton, himself Irish and settled in France since 1951, his daughter Lilian Barton-Sartorius and her husband Michel Sartorius and their two children, Mélanie and Damien.
