Château Monbousquet is a 32-hectare wine estate in Saint-Emilion whose origins date back to 1540. In 1682, Henri de Gères acquired it and a century later, through the union of the two families, the estate returned to the De Carles family who worked to transform the estate. From 1835 onwards, several owners succeeded each other until the Count of Vassal-Montviel who between 1858 and 1877 gave it its current face. Château Monbousquet then lost its splendour and it was not until the arrival of the Querre family in 1945 that it gradually regained its former aura.
In 1993, Chantal and Gérard Perse acquired the estate and brought about profound changes both in the vineyard and in the cellars. Thanks to their efforts and their original vision, Château Monbousquet once again became an exceptional wine and was awarded the rank of Grand Cru Classé in 2006.
Château Monbousquet is also a pioneer in the planting of Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle vines in Saint-Emilion and produces a white wine.
