Château Vieux Robin is located on the Médoc peninsula, about 60 kilometres from Bordeaux. Its name comes from a plot of the property. The vineyard extends from east to west from the estuary, on a wide variety of soils according to the outcrops of the different geological layers: gravel and coarse sands from Riss to Wurm, argillaceous limestone and marl, carbonate clays, hard limestone known as "Bégadan".
The grape varieties are mainly Cabernet Sauvignon (55%) and Merlot (40%) and are complemented by Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines are on average more than 40 years old. The wine is aged entirely in barrels for 18 months with 40% new wood each year.
The wines of Château Vieux Robin offer a beautiful balance of power and finesse that is given to it by the blend of grapes from its different terroirs.
