Established in 1932, the Voskevaz estate is located in the village of the same name, in the Aragatsotn region, on a plateau at an altitude of 1000 meters, at the foot of the highest point of Armenia, the Aragats, an extinct volcano of more than 4000 meters with eternal snow.
A few kilometers from the estate, on the banks of the Kasakh River, the remains of "karas", very old Armenian clay amphorae in which wine was once aged and whose origin dates back to 6000 BC, have been discovered.
It was in 2004 that Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian living in Italy, decided to acquire the estate. He developed the vineyard with only local grape varieties, greatly modernized the facilities, especially for winemaking, but kept the essential: the traditional ageing of the wines in "karas".
