RIBEYRENC

Ribeyrenc is a forgotten grape variety that was present in the Languedoc in the 18th and 19th centuries and disappeared with phylloxera. Offering only small yields of around 30 hl/ha, a low alcohol content (10 to 11) and a rather pale red colour, susceptible to disease and grey rot, it was abandoned in Languedoc in favour of Carignan, a more resistant grape variety that produced more powerful wines with higher yields.
It was while visiting the plots of the former Roquebrun winegrowers that winemakers such as Thiery Navarre found some stumps and were able to replant it. The
first cuvée was created in the year 2000 and today gives an original and surprising wine.
