Dan Odfjell discovered the Maipo Valley in Chile more than 25 years ago and decided to leave his hometown of Bergen, Norway to settle there. He planted his first vines in 1994 and the estate gradually expanded to reach 115 hectares, including 85 hectares in Maipo, supplemented by vineyards in Cauquenes, Lontué, and Colchagua, with a wide variety of grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenère, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Carignan.

Odfjell is committed to a strong environmental approach with vineyards cultivated 100% organically and now in biodynamic conversion, and harvesting entirely by hand.

The Domaine is currently run by Dan's two sons, Laurence and Dan Jr.
