The Clos de Tart is a mythical wine estate of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy composed of a single plot of 7.53 hectares located in Morey-Saint-Denis. In 9 centuries of history, it has never been divided, has had only 4 owners and is the largest Monopoly in Burgundy classified as a Grand Cru.
Founded in 1141 by the Bernardine nuns of the Abbey of Tart, a dependency of the Abbey of Cîteaux, the Clos de Tart became the property of the Marey-Monge family in 1791 who sold it in 1932 to the Mommessin family. It was acquired in 2017 by businessman François Pinault.
