The 1967 vintage benefited in France from a hot and dry summer but from wet September and October which led, in many regions and, apart from a few large estates and castles, to the production of rather meagre and diluted red wines. On the other hand, this humidity had a very beneficial effect on the production of sweet and sweet white wines and the 1967 vintage is undoubtedly the best of the sixties for Sauternes, Barsac and Loupiac wines.
