In 1999, Jean-Pierre Moueix acquired half of Château Certan-Giraud's plots, the other half went to Château Nenin, and renamed the estate Château Hosanna. Château Certan-Giraud was one of the oldest crus in Pomerol, dating back to the 16th century.
Today, Château Hosanna is a small 4.5-hectare wine estate located on the Pomerol plateau and surrounded by some of the appellation's most famous crus such as Château Lafleur, Château Pétrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus and Vieux Château Certan.
It has very old Cabernet Franc vines over 60 years old and benefits from remarkable soils, mixing red gravel and clay on iron grime, capable of giving complex, powerful and elegant Pomerol wines.
