Jayne and Raoul Beaumont founded Beaumont Wines in 1974 by taking over an old farmhouse with a strong spirit of adventure and enterprise. Their eldest son, Sebastian Beaumont, and Marelise Jansen van Rensburg now run the 40-year-old Beaumont Wines estate.

They produce wines that reflect the excellent climate of the Bot River Valley in southwestern South Africa. The vineyard benefits from beautiful ancient schist soils and a climate whose heat is tempered by cool winds due to the proximity of the sea.

The winemaking, especially for the emblematic Pinotage and Chenin Blanc, is minimally interventionist with the use of indigenous yeasts.
