The history of the vineyard dates back to 1818 with the installation of a Dutchman from Amsterdam, Daniel Johannes van Ryneveld. The current 37-hectare estate was created in 1994 by Friedrich Laibach and is organically farmed with the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Chenin Blanc, Malbec and Viognier grape varieties and yields limited to 35/40 h/ha.
