Domaine Vaziani was established in 1982 in Tbilisi, Georgia, then belonging to the Soviet Union (USSR) and became a private winery in 1992.
Domaine Vaziani produces dry white wines that are aged in oak barrels and made from the local Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane grape varieties grown in Tsinandali in the Kakheti region. The estate also produces red wines from the Georgian grape variety Saperavi.
But Domaine Vaziani is particularly known for its Makashvili winery whose origin dates back to the 15th century. Today, it contains several dozen terracotta jars or Qvevri, more than 120 years old, intended for the traditional ageing of amber white wines or orange wines.
