Château Pédesclaux is a Bordeaux wine estate whose great wine is 5th Grand Cru Classé, in the Pauillac appellation, on this superb 40-million-year-old geological subsoil that makes the great wines of Pauillac.
Founded in 1810 by Pierre-Urbain Pédesclaux, a wine broker, the estate then expanded and was sold in 1891 to Gabriel de Gastebois. His heirs entrusted the management to Lucien Jugla who bought it in 1951 and then enlarged the vineyard by adding the 13.7 hectares of Château Belle-Rose and whose building became the headquarters of Château Pédesclaux.
More recently, in 2009, Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti acquired Château Pédesclaux and increased the vineyard area to 48 hectares (purchase of the vines of Château Haut-Milon and Château Béhèré). Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti are also the owners of Château Lilian Ladouys (Saint-Estèphe) and since 2008, in association with Emmanuel Cruse, of Château d'Issan, a Margaux classified growth.
