ALBARINO
It was in Galicia, in northwestern Spain, that the Albarino developed. A rather confidential grape variety, its wines are worth the detour: a lot of freshness with aromas of exotic fruits, lemon, ripe apricot, pineapple and yellow peach, and floral notes, all perfectly balanced by a controlled acidity. It can also produce creamier and more complex wines after a long ageing on lees.
The Albarino is now also found in Portugal and the United States as well as in France in Languedoc and Roussillon.
