The Domaine de Bila-Haut was created by Michel Chapoutier, famous in the Rhône Valley, in the early 2000s in Latour de France in the Pyrénées-Orientales, on schist soils between sea and mountains. He then began to produce his first vintages, Les Vignes de Bila-Haut and Occultum Lapidem.

In 2010, he expanded the vineyard around the commune of Lesquerde, a terroir of high limestone cliffs, arid soils crossed by the Tramontana, and launched a new cuvée: L'esquerda.

More recently, the Sélections Parcellaires and Chrysopée were created.
