HAWKES BAY

Hawkes Bay is New Zealand's second largest wine region and is located in the east of the North Island, near the ocean coasts. It is also one of the oldest in the country, as the first vines were planted there more than 150 years ago by French missionaries.

It produces red wines (Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah) and white wines (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling) that are original due to its terroir and climatic conditions, with varied soils (alluvial plains, hills, coastal lands), a strong maritime influence and a very high amount of sunshine throughout the year.
