Domaine Christophe Semaska is a wine estate in the northern Rhône Valley that now covers 15 hectares in the Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Côtes-du-Rhône and Coteaux-de-Vienne appellations.
It was in 1988 that Christophe Semaska acquired Château de Montlys in Saint-Cyr-sur-le-Rhône, a 16th century estate located on a hillside overlooking the Rhône, a magnificent terroir for Côte-Rôtie wines. While the château still had 8 hectares of vines in 1918, it took 70 years for the great Côte-Rôtie wines of Château de Montlys to be reborn, when in 1988 Christophe Semaska replanted 1.4 hectares of Syrah vines.
The revival of this great wine was long and arduous, with a gradual development of the vineyard and the construction in 2011 of a new cellar, replacing the old cellars of the Château. Today, Christophe Semaska offers some of the best wines from the northern Rhône Valley.
