Château Marquis d'Alesme is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Margaux appellation whose great wine is 3rd Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Médoc wine classification.
It was in the 18th century that Pierre Vincent de Paule, Marquis d'Alesme and owner of the estate, became passionate about this Margaux terroir, mixing his other passions, art and travel, particularly in the Orient. The story continues in the19th century with Jean Bekker-Teerlink, a Dutch merchant with a passion for China who acquired the estate by renaming it Château Marquis d'Alesme Becker, then at the end of the century with Arthur de Gassowski, a famous naturalist painter of Polish origin who settled in Bordeaux, exhibited at the Grand Palais in 1877, and who gradually took over the vineyard bequeathed by his father-in-law.
Closer to home, Hubert Perrodo and his Hong Kong wife Carrie Wong settled in Bordeaux and acquired Château Labégorce in 1989. It was in 2006 that they became the new owners of Château Marquis d'Alesme and embarked on a major restructuring of the property. From their 3 children, François, Nathalie and Bertrand, it was Nathalie Perrodo-Samani who in 2010 took over the reins of the estate and undertook major architectural embellishment work with, in 2015, the construction of a new vat room and a new cellar.
