Château Lafon-Rochet is a Bordeaux winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and 4th Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Médoc wine classification.
It extends over 41 hectares planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. The great wine is made with vines with an average age of 35 years and some very old vines planted in 1938.
Born in the 17th century from the union of Antoinette de Guillemotes, owner of Domaine Rochet, and Etienne Lafon, it saw many owners succeed each other in the 18th and 19th centuries.
In 1960, Château Lafon-Rochet was acquired by Guy Tesseron. Since then, it has remained a family estate. His son Michel and, since 2007, his grandson Basile have taken over the management.
