Château Minuty is a wine estate in Provence located on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. It extends over 60 hectares in one piece on schist limestone soils, completed by 80 hectares on clay-limestone soils in Vidauban and by 20 hectares on the slopes of Valderian in Ramatuelle with a magnificent view of the bay of Pampelonne.
The vineyard is exceptionally well exposed on the slopes of the villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle, overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and benefits from a temperate maritime climate. The main grape variety is Grenache, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, Tibouren and Rolle.
The history of Château Minuty really began in 1936 when Gabriel Farnet, already owner of the Domaine de Châteauneuf in Vidauban, acquired it. The bastide was built under Napoleon III. Gabriel Farnet continued a long replanting process after the Second World War and in 1955, Château Minuty became one of the 23 properties to be distinguished as a Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence. His daughter Monique Farnet and her husband Etienne Matton continue these efforts by replanting traditional Provençal grape varieties (Tibouren, Rolle, Grenache) and limiting yields. Their sons Jean-Etienne and François Matton have now taken over and continue to renovate the vineyard and modernise the cellars.
