Domaine Lambert is a wine estate in the Loire Valley that cultivates 17 hectares of vines in Cravant-les-Côteaux and Chinon, in certified organic and biodynamic farming.
The grape varieties used are Cabernet Franc for red and rosé wines, and Chenin for white wine. The estate has 3 types of terroirs: gravel, clay-limestone soils on tufa subsoil and flint clay soils.
Organic farming has been practiced at the estate for nearly 20 years and the vines have been worked biodynamically since 2005, without the use of chemicals.
Domaine Lambert vinifies some of its wines in amphora, a practice inherited from the countries of the Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia) which invented it 8000 years ago. The estate uses a mixture of natural soils, Tuscan clay on the one hand and clay or limestone soils from the vineyard plots in Chinon on the other. The Ligéris Dolium, orange wine and Harmonie cuvées, are the result of Cabernet Franc amphora maceration.
