Tamada is a Georgian winery founded in 2001 that produces dry and sweet wines in 7 Appellations of Origin: Tsinandali, Tvishi, Mukuzani, Napareuli, Kindzmarauli, Khvanchkara and Akhasheni. Most of the estate's plots are planted with vines that are between 15 and 25 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand.
The name of the estate, Tamada, is the Georgian name of the master of the table who, during a traditional Georgian banquet, the supra, makes the toasts, animates the conversations and gives rhythm to the meal.
Tamada is owned by Georgian Wines and Spirits, a company founded in 1993 to produce high-quality Georgian wines.
