The family-run Champagne House Gimmonet & Fils is located in Cuis in the famous Côte des Blancs. The vineyard now extends over almost 30 hectares on the slopes classified as Premier and Grand Crus of the Côte des Blancs in Cuis, in Chouilly, including 3 hectares in the well-known place called "Montaigu", in Cramant, in Oger and since 2008 in Vertus.
The oldest plots were planted in 1911 and 1913, in the heart of the Grand Cru de Cramant. More than half of the vines are over 35 years old and in the Grand Cru terroirs, more than three-quarters of the vines are over 50 years old.
The history of the vineyard dates back to the 18th century. The Gimonnets first delivered their harvests to the Champagne merchants and then began bottling at the beginning of the 20th century under the name Henri Gimonnet. The House took off in the early 1930s with Pierre, the grandfather, and from 1955 onwards, the father, Michel Gimonnet, whose passion and scientific spirit made it possible to launch for the first time plot-by-plot vinification in small stainless steel vats and to produce complex and balanced champagnes from the Côte des Blancs. Very elegant, with an inimitable mineral freshness.
Today, the House is still family-owned and co-managed by Olivier and Didier Gimonnet, two of the four children of Michel Gimonnet and Françoise Gimonnet Larmandier. She is recognized by connoisseurs as one of the best representatives of the Côte des Blancs.
