Occidental is a small California winery located in the coastal Sonoma Valley region, near Freestone.

It was founded in 2011 by the Kistler family (Kistler Vineyards) to produce great Pinot Noir red wines from a parcel selection, on small hills culminating between 150 and 250 meters above sea level, whose terroir and cooler climate are perfectly suited to this grape variety.

Occidental's vineyard now covers approximately 34 hectares and produces some of the finest Pinot Noir wines in California. It is operated according to the principles of organic farming and sustainable environment, without chemical inputs.

Kistler Vineyards is an independent American winery founded in 1978 that produces great wines in California's Sonoma Valley, with plot-by-plot vinifications from 11 different vineyards in the Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountains and Carneros appellations.
