Château Guiraud is a Bordeaux winery that produces exceptional sweet white wines in the Sauternes appellation. It has been classified as a 1er Grand Cru since 1855 and has its own conservatory of grape varieties.
The grape varieties are made up of 65% Sémillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc, the latter selected from among the oldest strains in the property's conservatory. The soils are mostly sandy gravel, supplemented by deeper soils mixing gravel, limestone and heavy clay. Below the vineyard, springs allow the vines to be perfectly drained.
In 1996, Château Guiraud began a profound cultural revolution by committing to the study of biodiversity and in 2011, it became the first 1st Grand Cru Classé in 1855 to receive the "Organic Agriculture" certification.
