Domaine Gerin is a family-run winery in the north of the Rhône Valley, which extends over 17 hectares in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie vineyard, in the village of Ampuis, for 6 generations.
The history of the estate began in 1983 when Jean-Michel Gerin acquired a plot of land in Côte-Rôtie and then took over the vines of his grandfather Marcel and his father Alfred to truly create the current estate. In 1988, he vinified "Les Grandes Places" for the first time, followed in 1996 by the mythical "La Landonne", in 2003 by "La Viallière" and in 2018 by "Côte-Bodin", made from vines planted 30 years earlier on an exceptional terroir.
Jean-Michel Gerin is now supported by his two sons, Michaël and Alexis, with whom he started the conversion of the estate to organic farming in 2020.
In 2002, with two winemaker friends, Peter Fischer of Château Revelette in Provence and Laurent Combier in Crozes-Hermitage, Jean-Michel Gerin acquired vines in Priorat, a large Spanish wine region south of Barcelona. On 6 hectares between 300 and 500 metres above sea level, they produce exceptional wines from traditional grape varieties, Grenache and Carignan, with a complement of Syrah.
