Château de Villeneuve is a wine estate in the Loire Valley located in the village of Souzay overlooking the river and spread over 25 hectares of Cabernet Franc and Chenin vines. The two great Loire grape varieties, planted here on the limestone slope of tufa, offer superb red and white Saumur wines.
In the vineyard, the work is carried out without the use of weedkillers or chemical fertilizers, according to the principles of organic farming, respecting the wild fauna and flora.
The winery dates back to the 17th century and in 1867 it became the property of the de Foucault and de Bossoreil families, then a century later, of the Chevallier family who completely restored the château. In 1997, it returned to its original cellars and in 2016, a new winery was inaugurated.
