Romain Hénin is a young winegrower in Aÿ, a commune in the Champagne region of France classified as a grand cru, near Epernay. After studying viticulture in Avize and a two-year apprenticeship at Domaine Henri Giraud in Aÿ, he joined the family estate in 2013 where he represents the fourth generation of the Hénin family.
In 2016, in parallel with the work he is doing with his parents, he created his own 1.2-hectare estate and started a conversion to organic farming and biodynamics. He works the vineyard by promoting grass cover and the planting of fruit trees and in the cellar, the wines are natural, without inputs. He produces only about a few thousand bottles a year.
In 2021, he took over the entire family estate and planned an organic and biodynamic conversion of the entire vineyard. .
