Château Le Gay is a Bordeaux wine estate located on the right bank, on the Pomerol plateau, between Château Petrus and Château Lafleur, and which extends over 10.5 hectares, on clay-limestone gravel soils. The vineyard's grape varieties are mainly composed of Merlot for 65%, complemented by Cabernet Franc for 35%, with vines aged 55 years on average.
The history of the estate dates back to the 18th century and it took its current name when the owner, the Greloud family, divided the vineyard between Chateau Lafleur and Chateau Le Gay in the mid-19th century. In 2002, it became the property of Catherine Péré-Vergé, owner of Château Montviel in Pomerol since 1985, and she had the cellars rebuilt the following year.
Today, his son, Henri Parent, is at the head of the estate. Château Le Gay produces a second wine "Le Manoir de Gay".
