Château Duhart-Milon is a Bordeaux wine estate that extends over 76 hectares in the north of the Pauillac appellation, next door to Château Lafite Rothschild. It is adjacent to a wild area of marshes, meadows and woods of more than a hundred hectares. It benefits from Quaternary sandy gravel soils, rich in pebbles, sands and clays, planted for 2/3 with Cabernet Sauvignon and 1/3 with Merlot.
The history of Château Duhart-Milon began in the 18th century when Sieur Duhart, Louis XV's privateer, settled there. It is the only 4th Grand Cru Classé in the commune of Pauillac to have been recognised in this place by the 1855 classification.
Château Duhart-Milon also produces a second wine, Moulin de Duhart, selected from the same vines but younger than the average of the vineyard and aged in shorter barrels.
Since 1962, it has belonged to Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, which also owns Château Lafite Rothschild, Château L'Evangle (Pomerol) and Château Rieussec (Sauternes).
