Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is a wine estate in the South-West of France in the Cahors appellation, located in Prayssac and which extends over about 20 hectares planted mainly with the emblematic grape variety of the appellation, Malbec, with Merlot, Gamay and Cabernet Franc in addition.
Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve produces several Cahors cuvées, more fruity wines such as the Cheval en Tête Rouge or Le Combal cuvées and the more structured cuvées such as La Fage or Les Laquets.
Childhood friends, Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve created the estate in 1999 and have raised it to the top of the appellation. The estate is cultivated biodynamically, the harvest is manual, the vinification is natural with the only use of indigenous yeasts, without fining or filtering, and the long ageing perfectly domesticates the tannins of the Malbec.
