BOURBOULENC
Very common until the seventies, then used as a complement in blends in many appellations, the Bourboulenc grape variety has now become quite confidential.
It is a late white grape variety, harvested until mid or even late October, and is almost never used alone: it is used in particular in the blends of white wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, to name the best known, and more generally in some white wines from the southern Rhône and Languedoc, in addition to more aromatic grape varieties such as Rolle or Vermentino, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc and Maccabeu
