CANON FRONSAC

The Canon Fronsac appellation covers barely 250 hectares, on the right bank of the Garonne, about 25 km from Bordeaux and near the city of Libourne.

Close to Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, the vineyard of Canon Fronsac, like that of Fronsac, is surrounded by the rivers Isle and Dordogne. The Merlot grape variety is in the majority, supplemented by Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and the soils are clay-limestone.

The history of the vineyards of Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Fronsac and Canon Fronsac is marked by the poet Ausone and the Gallo-Roman period of the vine in Bordeaux.
