Chateau de Belcier Castillon-Cotes-de-Bordeaux Red 1989
This 1989 Bordeaux is a red wine produced by Château de Belcier in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on a terroir adjacent to Saint-Emilion. In the excellent 1989 vintage, Bordeaux wines and even wines from what were considered at the time to be "small appellations", offer a good longevity.
The Château de Belcier was built at the end of the 18th century and was for a long time the property of an old Bordeaux family allied with the Montaignes. It was then partly rebuilt by François de Belcier, a counter-revolutionary who was guillotined in 1794.
