Chateau Roc de Cambes Cotes de Bourg Red 2003
Château Roc de Cambes is a superb Bordeaux wine in the Côtes-de-Bourg appellation produced by François Mitjaville, also owner of the famous Château Tertre Roteboeuf in Saint-Emilion. It is offered here in the 2003 vintage.
Made from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon, it offers a beautiful slightly evolved ruby colour and a powerful nose with empyreumatic (coffee) and vegetal notes. Ample and round on the palate, the body is dense and enveloping on jammy black fruits, balanced by a very nice tangy freshness. The fresh and fruity finish lingers on toasted notes.
A wine to be tasted today and that can be kept in the cellar for a few more years. It will go very well with poultry and white meats in sauce, game or sweetbreads.
