Domaine Brumont Madiran Chateau Bouscasse Red 2010
Château Bouscassé's Madiran is a harmonious wine in power, with a delicate fruitiness with aromas of blackberries on well-melted tannins and a fleshy palate. It is a wine that remains young, with a slow evolution and therefore a good ageing potential. Ideally exposed to the south and at an altitude of 200 metres, the vines of Bouscassé produce very great wines, more accessible in their youth than those of Montus.
Château Bouscassé is the historic property of Alain Brumont who relaunched the family estate in 1978. With more than 100 hectares today, on one of the best terroirs of the Maumusson hillside, including 50 hectares of large clay-limestone terroir along the cliff of the commune of Maumusson-Laguian. This terroir is also nicknamed "Le Pied de Côte de Saint-Emilion" with humour, because the Tannat gives a wine that has certain characteristics similar to the great wines of the right bank of Bordeaux: rigour, fine structure and long ageing potential.
