Domaine Brumont Madiran Chateau Bouscasse Old Vines Red 2006
Château Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes 2006 is a great red wine from Madiran made from 100% the Tannat grape variety, made by Alain Brumont in the estate's historic vineyard. It offers a dark colour with purplish reflections and a delicate nose with delicate aromas with notes of discreet forest fruits, cigar and mocha. The palate is full-bodied, full-bodied and concentrated with firm tannins but coated by creaminess, carrying the finish far.
Château Bouscassé's Vieilles Vignes cuvée is produced from vines over 50 years old from the best terroirs of Bouscassé. Some of the Tannats on these plots are vines that have been marcotted and are therefore free-standing, which means that they are pre-phylloxera. Part of the Bouscassé terroir is made up of vines dating back to before the phylloxera crisis.
Château Bouscassé is the historic property of Alain Brumont who relaunched the family estate in 1978. With more than 100 hectares today, on one of the best terroirs on the Maumusson hillside, ideally exposed to the south and at an altitude of 200 metres, the vines of Bouscassé produce very great wines, more accessible in their youth than those of Montus.
You can also find all the wines of the 2006 vintage currently on sale at La Bouteille Dorée.
