This Prestige cuvée was created in 1985. It is the first Madiran made of 100% Tannat and aged entirely in new oak barrels. A revolution for the time that all the world's greatest tasters would bring to the firmament.

This Château Montus Prestige 1999 comes from the best terroirs of the vineyard, located on the highest part of Montus, draining and warm, which favor strong ripeness and represent the best that the Tannat grape variety can give. Remarkably concentrated, this densely packed wine has a real smoothness and is often ranked among the 100 greatest wines in the world. It has a dark garnet colour with purplish reflections. The nose is complex, mixing aromas of spices and black fruits. The palate is powerful and balanced with firm tannins.

Bought by Alain Brumont in the 80s, when the Madiran appellation was struggling to make itself heard, Château Montus became a reference in the South-West of France in a single generation. Magnificent, unique, powerful, racy and world-renowned wines.
