This Château La Nerthe Rouge is offered here in Magnum and in the superb 2000 vintage, one of the very best of the last 50 years in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with 2007 and 2010. A wine now at its peak, ready to be tasted, a dense, complex and gourmet wine.

It was in the 12th century, at the time when the Popes were French, that the La Nerthe vineyard was born, from which this Château La Nerthe Rouge 2009 comes from. Frédéric Mistral, founder of the Félibrige and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1904, praised the wine of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, "a royal, imperial, pontifical wine" and glorified that of the Nerthe in "Le chant des félibres" (1855).
