Château Rauzan-Gassiès is a great Bordeaux wine in the Margaux appellation and 2nd Grand Cru Classé.

The year 1971 was a good vintage in Bordeaux with concentrated wines thanks to low yields. More than forty-five years have passed and this wine from the 1971 vintage is of course no longer at its peak, but you can offer it as a gift to a lover of old vintages who will still find a lot of pleasure in tasting.

The Château Rauzan-Gassiès vineyard extends over 29 hectares of vines in Margaux and Cantenac and the history of the Château begins in the 17th century. American President Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), a great lover of Bordeaux wines, was particularly fond of Rauzan wines. The vineyard was divided in the 19th century, a part of which gave birth to Château
Rauzan-Gassiès in 1839. Today, and for more than 50 years, it has been the Quié family who own it.
