This 1999 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale from Domaine Faiveley offers a charming and subtle nose combining ripe fruit, spices, undergrowth and leather, with a beautiful balance on the palate.

The "Clos de la Maréchale" climate is located in Premeaux-Prissey, on the border with Comblanchien, south of the Côte de Nuits. It takes its name from the fact that it belonged to the wife of a Marshal of the Second Empire. Find Domaine Faiveley's wines currently on sale at La Bouteille Dorée.

The 1999 vintage was very successful for the red wines of Burgundy, with high volumes, but with excellent climatic conditions during the summer which allowed the grapes to reach perfect maturity while maintaining a high acidity.
