The 2012 Sangue d'Oro is a sweet white wine, a Muscat made by Carole Bouquet on the island of Pantelleria between Sicily and Tunisia, called Moscato di Pantelleria or Passito di Pantelleria.

It is a superb wine, very rich on the nose, with notes of bergamot, cinchona and dried apricot. On the palate it is smooth and digestible, with a very long persistence on the finish. It can be enjoyed chilled at 11°C as an accompaniment to hard cheeses such as an old Comté, a Roquefort or a Parmesan or with foie gras and sweet and sour dishes or chocolate and orange desserts.

This wine is made from the Muscat d'Alexandrie or Zibbido grape variety, meaning grape to dry in Sicilian. Indeed, it is a raisinage wine, which means that once the grapes have been sorted, they are placed on the ground to be dried naturally in the sun. Once the grapes have dried for about 2 to 3 weeks, they are added to a fermentation wine in order to increase its sugar content.
