Carruades de Lafite Rothschild Pauillac 2024 - Original wooden case 1 bottle

Carruades de Lafite Rothschild 2024 is a great red wine from Bordeaux in the Pauillac appellation and the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, classified 1er Grand Cru in the classification of Médoc wines of 1855. This wine takes its name from the Carruades plateau, a group of plots adjoining the château and acquired in 1845 by Château Lafite. In the 19th century, the wines of the Carruades were sold under their name, independently of Château Lafite, then the name of Carruades was taken up for the second wine of Château Lafite, first under the name of "Moulin des Carruades" and then "Carruades de Lafite" from the 1980s.

As Château Lafite announces, 2024 was an Olympic vintage in every sense of the word: very heavy rains in winter, and the incessant threat of mildew from the beginning of spring, led to low yields. From the second half of July, summer set in with the almost total absence of rain and the appearance of water stress in the vineyard, offering the promise of a beautiful vintage. The rains at the beginning of September did not impact the quality of the grapes, even if the ripeness was not optimal.

It is finally a very beautiful wine with an intense nose with aromas of red fruits and notes of eucalyptus. On the palate, the attack is frank, almost airy, then the wine unfolds with fullness and the finish offers a lot of finesse and depth. It can be enjoyed by 2028-2030 and kept in the cellar until about 2050-2055.
