In the heart of the famous clay-gravel plateau of Pomerol, next to the prestigious Petrus and Gospel estates, Château Gazin is a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux and is one of the major properties of the appellation.

2016 is one of the best vintages in recent years, since the great vintages of 2009 and 2010, in the same style as 2015, but more powerful and fleshier. With a purple colour, it offers a nose of red and black fruits, sour cherry and blackcurrant, which will then evolve into notes of undergrowth, leather and truffle. On the palate, the attack is round and ample, with a fresh and already very silky substance thanks to the maturity of the tannins, and a lot of length with notes of cocoa. It is preferable to start tasting it from 2024 but the finesse and freshness of this great Pomerol allows it to be opened today. Its conservation potential is very high, in the order of 30 to 35 years at least.

Château Gazin went through a glorious period with the sumptuous 1955 and 1961 vintages and then fell asleep until the 80s. Under the impetus of Nicolas de Baillencourt, Gazin returned in successive stages with, in 1989, the first vintage of renewal. Since then, the success has been uninterrupted.
