Chateau de Fargues Sauternes 1990
Château de Fargues 1990 is a great sweet white wine from Sauternes, offered here in an exceptional vintage, the most powerful of the magnificent trilogy of 1988, 89 and 90.
It offers a superb amber gold colour and a very rich, highly concentrated nose, with notes of citrus and candied fruit, honey and dried fruit, with hints of menthol. The attack on the palate is powerful and then evolves into a dense substance, with a lot of fat, and the finish is very persistent with spicier flavours.

Learn more about the 1990 vintage
In Sauternes, spring and summer were particularly hot and dry, with temperatures peaking at 40°C in July, and maturity was reached at the end of August. Botrytization began almost immediately and the harvest began in mid-September, a record for earliness at the time, and ended in mid-October.
The 1990 vintage is one of the great Bordeaux vintages of the last 100 years. The excellent climatic conditions allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
