Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia D.O.C.G. Sassicaia Bolgheri Red 2007
This Sassicaia Bolgheri Red 2007 from Tenuta San Guido is a great Italian red wine from the Maremma region of Tuscany in the Sassicaia Bolgheri D.O.C.G. appellation.
The 2007 vintage was marked by a very mild and fairly dry winter in Tuscany, followed by an equally mild spring, which led to an early flowering, then a summer between drought in July and humidity in August, allowing excellent ripeness of the grapes. This beautiful wine offers a powerful nose with very pure fruitiness with notes of leather and slightly spicy. On the palate, the substance is dense but very well balanced, the tannins are silky and the finish is sapid and very persistent. It is now at its peak in this 2007 vintage and can be kept for a few more years, until about 2025-207.
