Anne Gros is the daughter of François Gros, whom she succeeded at the Domaine in 1995 after working there for 10 years. The estate is made up of beautiful plots in Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and Clos de Vougeot.
Anne Gros advocates a sustainable viticulture that favoursthe cultivation of the soils and a traditional vinification and ageing with a high proportion of new oak barrels. Its wines are full-bodied, racy and elegant, built for long ageing and now recognized throughout the world.
The Gros family has been one of the best known in the Côte de Nuits since the beginning of the 19th century, in 1804 to be exact when Alphonse Gros settled in Vosne. The various successions during the 20th century gave birth to several estates, in particular with the succession of Louis Gros in 1951 whose 4 children each inherited a part of the vineyard. Today, there are 4 estates of the Gros family: Domaine Anne Gros, Domaine Michel Gros in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Gros Frère & Sœur directed by Bernard Gros in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Anne-Françoise Gros in Pommard.
